Cody Crocker and Dale Moscatt continued their fine form after recent victories in the China Rally, and Group N in the WRC Rally New Zealand to claim 1st outright in the Subaru Rally of Canberra driving a Subaru Impreza WRX. Team Subaru dominated with Dean Herridge and Bill Hayes coming in a close 2nd place, while Juha Kangas and Julia Rabbett stormed home over the final stages to grab 3rd place from Finnish countrymen Jussi Valimaki and Jarkko Kalliolepo in their MRF Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII. Toshi Arai and Tony Sircombe had finished the event in 4th position and would have taken maximum points in the Asia Pacific section, but were excluded from the results by the Stewards due to a technical infringement with the car.

In the Subaru Capital Rally for non-Asia Pacific crews, Toyota's Simon and Sue Evans took the win followed by teamates Neal Bates and Coral Taylor in 2nd, while John Stilling and Frank Brookhouse were 3rd in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI.
